Chelsea Casabona
Chelsea Casabona is a NYC-based documentary filmmaker and journalist. She gravitates towards character-driven stories that explore themes of health, neurodiversity, aging, and disability. Her independent work as a co-director, cinematographer, and editor on her debut short documentary, METTLE, won her the “Best Student Work” award at the 2024 International Sport Film Festival, a 2024 Gary Corcoran Student Prize for Excellence in Reporting on Disability, and a 2025 Campus Consortium Reporting Fellowship of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. Her work as a reporter and writer was published in the NJ-Star Ledger and their affiliate publication, Mosaic. Currently, Chelsea is a cinematographer and editor with the production A World of Difference: Embracing Neurodiversity, a groundbreaking series produced by Beacon College that airs on PBS and is available to stream on the PBS app. She also has experience filming and editing branded documentaries, weddings, and corporate events. Chelsea graduated with honors from the documentary specialization at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2024.
